Best way to setup a save that keeps Seattle Pilots

Was thinking of doing a save starting in 1969 as the Pilots but I want to keep them as a team going forward. I assume the only way to do this is to turn off automatic expansion and then in 1977 manually expand the league myself with the Mariners and Blue Jays.

If I do that, does that mean that stuff like Silvam's mod that rolls stadiums forward, etc won't work at all or only that it won't work for the affected teams or do I need to associate some specific team id with the manual expansion of the Jays/Mariners if the mod looks at that?

I guess I wanted to figure out what the best way is to setup a Pilots save but also retain the way the stadium and uniform mods work.

Or is it just easier to leave everything as auto-expand and then just change the Brewers back to the Pilots every season by just manually changing the name/stadium stuff?

You can keep them, but you will be responsible for handling all league evolution going forward. The moment you click "Automatically Expand League", they're gone to Milwaukee the next offseason (along with the Senators to Texas). As for the stadium, they'll stay in that ballpark until you change it.

Edit the Teams.csv file. Same thing as the "fix" for other team names like the ... Expos.

That's the answer... I don't know, however, about the stadiums. I think it will just keep the 1969 stadium in place until you were to manually change it.

Also, if you are using historical transactions and wanting the Brewers' players to import to the Seattle team each year, you won't want to monkey with the various abbreviation fields in the teams.csv file, meaning you'd instead want to manually update the abbreviation field for Seattle each year. (Despite some testing on this, I've been unable to figure out now OOTP uses each of these abbreviation fields to where I'm confident enough to edit them and have things still work...)

If you try this, definitely report back on the stadium issue and anything else interesting that you find
