NeL pitchers too good

Did a test of a game with the new beta patch, on 1930.
No scouting, all real values

As you can see the list of the best pitchers are all dominated by negro league players. Only a few MLB pitchers even make the list
The batting list though seems to be quite balanced and good.

That's something we can look at again for the first patch next week.

Hi Marcus
The problem still persists.
All setting default out of the box

I reloaded 1930 for example and by the screenshots below, the negro league pitchers dominate all others,
but with the batters it looks much more like one would expect for the era of players

We do have some further updates that did not quite make this patch. The stuff and control especially are still coming out a little high. We'll have more adjustments in the next update.

I won't dispute, but I'd just like to add, this is pretty historically accurate!
It's safe to say that the Negro League players were INCREDIBLE athletes, playing 3, 4, 5 positions in a single game, and those boys could PLAY!!
Just because of segregation before 1950, doesn't mean that the players not in the major leagues were ameteurs. There's a reason that Branch Rickey broke tradition and went and MADE his players play with Jackie Robinson in 1946. And he proved it.

And so did Satchel Paige. Larry Doby. Many others throughout the 1950s, just walking all over the white boys. I would ask not to discount the NeL just because they didn't wear an MLB uniform. They were PRETTY DANG GOOD ballplayers!!

I say kudos on you, OOTP, for getting it RIGHT!! Don't water them down, but show the world that MLB was the INFERIOR LEAGUE from 1920-1950!!!

Add on:
1947 was Jackie's first year. He was rookie of the year. now don't forget. the brooklyn dodgers were FIRING people that would not be on the same field with 42.
1948 he was joined by Roy Campanella, Satchel Paige, Don Bankhead
1949 Don Newcombe becomes first pitcher to win a Rookie of the Year. Jackie is league MVP. Jackie, Roy, Satchel & Larry Doby are all 4 the first All-stars.

and that's just pre 1950 when no white player wanted to be on the same field with them. And they're already sweeping season awards and getting hundreds of death threats.
almost every one that played before 1950 are in Cooperstown.

Please don't assume these players can't be good. That is not fair to any of them.
I'm not trying to say you're wrong. I'm just saying that just because you never saw or heard of them, that doesn't mean they werent excellent baseball players.
The 1940s was a pretty dead era. The Yankees were pretty much the entire decade all by themselves, but there were 50 other teams, most of which nobody had ever heard of. Respect. They earned those ratings.

I still think it needs to be looked at. There is no doubt many of the negro league players were quite good (easily MLB level), but we're talking about a small total population of players constituting, in a single year, of 21 of the 25 best pitchers in the entire United States? You would need far better data than there is available to make that claim.

Population wise, this would be like if we had a situation where 21 of the 25 best pitchers in the entire world were in the KBO this year. There just isn't a large enough population to draw from in the KBO to make that happen.
