Tournament Batch 6 & More News

Hey, everyone!

We have some fun news to announce tonight! While you're waiting on word from the National Baseball Hall of Fame, we have just activated our latest -- and final -- batch of tournament rewards; Tournament Batch 6 (57 cards). These cares are live in Choice Packs now. However, the Choice Pack is only batches 4 to 6. That doesn't mean batches 1 to 3 are turned off, so here's the deal:

Any tournament with Choice Packs at stake will have two for every finish; one for TB 4-6 and another for TB 1-3. That means if you win a weekly tournament, you will get two Perfect Choice Packs. If you come in second then you get two High Diamond Choice Packs; one with batches 4 through 6 and the other 1 through 3.

Please keep in mind that these Choice Packs and the prize structure has to cycle into the tournament and Perfect Draft ecosystems. You should see them starting to populate in the daily categories tomorrow (Wednesday).

Also, you will pick one card from an array of 12 in these packs.

Paul Sporer is planning to do a stream tomorrow to review the cards from TB6. Enjoy!

Some nice names

Perfects - Eddie Collins, Jason Giambi, Buster Posey, Honus Wagner, Juan Marichal, Ed Morris, Papelbon, Robb Nen (Morris is a personal favorite for me as a Pirate fan, he completed all 63 of his starts in 1884 with a 137 ERA+ and 39-24, in 1885 he went 41-20 and threw another 550+ innings. Unsurprisingly, that was the effective end of his career, although he hung on for 4 more mostly meh seasons.)

High Diamonds - Ashburn, Averill, Sam McDowell, Morneau, Kid Nichols, Percival, Pfiester, Posada, Sandberg, Werth, Billy Wagner, Mike Young

Low Diamonds - Bando, Jason Bay, NeL P Chet Brewer, Neil Cotts, George Grantham, Dave Henderson, Killebrew, Shane Mack, Gary Nolan, Darrell Porter, an A-Rod 3B card, Chris Short

Golds - Belt, Brandon Crawford, Hough, Brickyard Kennedy, Steve Kline, Carlos Lee, Thornton Lee, Mark Loretta, George Sherrill, Denard Span, Justin Turner, Rick Wilkins

Silvers - Betances, Jason Castro, Delino deShields, Brett Gardner, J.J. Hardy, High Pockets Kelly, Dennis Martinez, Melvin Mora, Drew Pomeranz, J.T. Realmuto (a Marlins year), Franmil Reyes, David Wells

How do you prioritize selecting cards from the Perfect Choice Packs, considering the diverse range of players in Tournament Batch 6, and what factors influence your decision-making process?

The same way

You would select which card to buy from the card shop, except that price is not a factor. Depends on what your team needs, or who you think you can sell for the biggest price. You can open a pack, write all the names down, and then go look at your team to see who fits the best - the same cards will be up when you come back.

Depends on what you're looking for, of course. But here is what I prioritize:

1. Tournament teams - If there are any good cards at that level that will make a tournament team for me, I pick those first i.e. I grabbed Harmon Killebrew from the low diamond pack because he'll play 1B/3B in low diamond tourneys.

2. Missions - If I need any tournament cards for specific missions, I'm looking for these next i.e. I completed the leftover TB3 and TB2 missions from Immortal Seasons from the 1-3 TB packs by picking cards for those missions.

3. Buy order price / L10 & lowest available - Otherwise, if I'm just looking to sell the reward I'm considering these two things. First, which card has the highest buy order for an instant cash out. Second, which card has the fewest available and highest L10. i.e. there may be a card with a 9,000 buy order vs. another with a 15K L10 and none currently available. In that case, I probably grab the 15K L10 card and list it for 16K.

Always click 'refresh card info' or whatever it says there and check the L10 on all the available cards before choosing. Even if I needed a particular low diamond card for example, right now, if either of the low diamond cards in the Tournament Meta mission were in my pack, I'm picking those - they're going for 125-150K each - and then I could just buy whichever one I had wanted.
