AI teams hoarding goalies

Hi,


I noticed that AI teams have the tendency to hoard goalies in FHM 10.


In my current save 3 seasons in I regularly see teams trading for goalies when they're already stacked at the position, and thus waiving their new goalie the very same day of the trade.


The Isles just traded for Jack Campbell when they already have Sorokin and Varlamov in net, and so they just waived him. This kind of goalies related moves happened a lot in my current season.



The Blackhawks also have a goalie tandem of Shesterkin and Oettinger for a 18 millions cap hit combined which is killing them, they signed Otter in free agency despite having a clear starter and an amazing goalie prospect pool of 4 goalies that are already at NHL level but are rotting in the minors.



Also in my previous save (played 7 or 8 seasons) I saw several NCAA teams carrying 10+ goalies on their roster :-/

What did the Islanders get in exchange for Campbell? That one may be an issue with one particular set of trade logic not excluding goalies as a possible return when the team doesn't need one.

Hey Jeff,

The Islanders sent Jakub Škarek and the rights of Cody Schiavon and received Jake Chiasson and Jack Campbell from the Oilers

FWIW, in a sim using FHM9 the AI GM for the Winnipeg Jets acquired Sergei Bobrovsky from Florida & Philipp Grubauer from Seattle (I think it was) while they still had Connor Hellebuyck.

In the end, the ended up releasing Bobrovsky in like October or November if memory serves me correctly.

So I don't think this is a "new" oddity in the FHM world.
