Hey gang!
I’m hoping to deliver to the community a Christmas/New Years present!

Behold below summary….

- File start date December

- Updated transactions/trades/free agents though late December (I.e Ohtani and Yamamoto to Dodgers, etc)

- Updated nearly 7,000 players based on 2024 Steamer projections

- Updated ratings/potentials for top 10 prospects for each team based on scouting reports on Baseball America. OOTP top 10 for each organization may not reflect Baseball America, however top 10’s have been at least reviewed and adjusted

- Updated free agency through late December

- Updated injuries (Max Scherzer, others)

- Includes foreign league player free agents additions Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Jung Hoo Lee, and others!

- Prospects “calibrations”. Most prospects are FV 45-55. True elite prospects like Jackson Holliday/Jackson Chourio/Ethan Salas/Junior Caminero/Paul Skenes will be 65-70 range.

- Most MLB players are 45-55 range….This is in line with MLB projections. True elites such as Juan Soto, Jacob DeGrom, are still 75-80 FV. Only 15 or so Starting pitchers have a FV of 65+

- Updated financials *still pending*

- Updated head coaches/front office *still pending*

- Offseason awards *still pending*

File does not contain:

- MLB draft order

- 2024 schedule

- I’m also not certain file captures all minor league transactions. I used Streamer as of early December for a starting point.

If anyone can help me with these two files I (and the community) will be super grateful!!

Below are now updated in the file I’m working on:

- Updated financials (adjusting markets/fan interest, et al)

- Updated MLB coaches/front office

- Offseason awards

- Accurate 2024 MLB draft order ** this will have some slight adjustments as a few free agents tied to draft pick compensation have yet to sign **

I’m also going through to adjust R/L splits for at least majority of batters on MLB rosters.

Planning to release before New Years!

Very grateful for your work on this, CBLCardinals — goes a long way to keeping the game fresh and relevant. My favorite time to start a new save is the late offseason, before reality sets in and dampens the immersion, and these updated files are a huge help.

R/L batter splits are looking great and the AI lineups/depth charts seem to make sense based on them.

Hey gang,

Plan is to upload and release in this thread late afternoon/early evening Central time today.

I’m spending time today checking minor leaguers MLB service days which the live start borks on some players…specifically random AA or lower players, usually pitchers for some reason.
Options for random minor leaguers also borked for some. Updating those as many as I can find.

Before release, below is a quick Overall Ratings Key I use in conjunction with projection system.

20-25: mostly just Organization depth

30-35: AAAA up/down types. Some potential, but holes in overall game for batters. Potentially a #3 type catcher, or last bullpen arm on MLB roster. Possibly 26th man on roster.

40-45 #5 SP type starters, bench depth, second division starters.

**** IMPORTANT all teams are currently set to NOT allow AI changes. Once you take over a team, change this in league settings!!! ***


- In the file I have scouting off. There are definitely chances some players may have slightly higher/lower ratings if I missed someone.

- In general batters “Avoid K” rating is boosted, otherwise many high strikeout hitters were rated too poorly to be on a MLB roster (30 overall range)

- I’ve adjusted some markets/loyalty/owner focus stuff. A specific example is Seattle. Their ownership is claiming virtually no money to spend this offseason, despite being the most profitable team in MLB 2022 per Forbes. I’ve adjusted them to below average market, and owner focus to extreme profit.

- Unfortunately schedule is not the official MLB 2024. Hopefully someone can produce one soon to add to file

- Updated financial demand by tier. In coordination with this I’ve also increased Financials for teams.

- I feel the rookie draft prospects for 2024 need a lot of updates. I didn’t have time to touch many here

- As noted in an earlier post, I’ve done my best to incorporate splits, specifically at least for players on MLB roster. My methodology was to leverage 2023 splits. If sample size was small, I would default to reviewing career splits. It’s entirely possible I’ve missed some players, but the AI setting up lineups looks pretty good from what I reviewed.



Macro-wise everything looks great.
