NCAA Generates Pro-Style Schedule

I'm on the latest version of FHM 10. It keeps the same amount of games, but orders them in a way an NHL schedule would be ordered. This then leaves over a month between the start of the NCAA Tournament/Conference Tournaments and the end of the regular season.

Was that with a game that was started prior to the new update, or after it? I'm not sure if the fix will work on existing saves.

It was one of the first saves I made after the game came out. I don't want to lose it, so I'm making an entire NCAA schedule just for it, xml and all.

That's probably the best way of handling it - but you don't necessarily need to recreate it by hand, if you just started a new standard game on July 1, you should be able to export the real NCAA schedule from the first year.
