Need Help With Correct Historical Managers

I know OOTP does not track real historical movement for managers in a historical sim. I was wondering how some of you longtime historical players handle this if you want your game to reflect real historical managers. I was wondering how to handle these two specific scenarios:

1) In 1901, Frank Selee managed the Boston Nationals. In 1902, Selee moved to the Chicago Orphans, and Al Buckenberger managed the Boston Nationals. I imagine getting Selee from the Nationals to the Orphans is easy (in commish mode in the editor, change Selee form managing the National to managing the Orphans), but if Buckenberger isn't in the database to select as the new Nationals manager, how do you create him?

2) In 1902, John McGraw begins the season as a player and manager for the Baltimore Orioles. Later in the season, he goes to the NY Giants as a player and their manager. I imagine using real transactions will move player McGraw from the Orioles to the Giants, but it won't move him as the manager from the Orioles to the Giants. So how do you handle this move?

The Player-Manager scenario is particularly tricky. You basically need to treat them as two separate individuals, so in Muggsy's case move the Manager version of him across in Commish mode.

For Buckenberger, just go to any other fictional Manager - one with zero history if possible - and edit him is how I'd do it. You can create new ones but I forgot how it's done. Maybe someone else can remind both of us.

The thing with this is that it's a bit futile because the game will just hire and fire as it sees fit anyway, so it becomes a seemingly endless game of Whac-a-mole. As much as I like the verisimilitude, this is one sacrifice I make. I do owners, just not Managers or GMs.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply luckymann. I will see how it goes with trying to keep the real managers correct. If it becomes too much of a pain, I will also probably abandon the effort.
