lol!
Clerks aside, does anyone feel for Oakland here? They have the third best record in the league (2nd not including MIN) and they're 16 games out of first! I know this feeling in my HH sim league. Luckily I pulled out a WC appearance last year. ![]() -E

The most I ever had in a row was 28 and that was with a team that finished the season 134-28

Re. Update on Twins:
The Twins lost a heartbreaker in Game 38. I had been screensaving after each game after about 26 in a row.... I'll update you on the rest of the season when I am home later on. I don't think I have ever seen a winning percentage over .800 let alone .900, so I'll let you know if they continue their run, or swoon in June... Re. Divisional Alignment: I started the league in 1977 season and then later added Ottawa and Washington. I originally had Ottawa in the West, but couldn't live with that geographically (I live in Western Canada, and Ottawa is definitely not in the West!), so switched them with St. Louis... |

Here are Minnesota's final numbers for the season. Poor Oakland wins 89 games and is 52 freakin games out of first. They took the A.L. Series 4-2 and swept St.Louis in the Series. Maybe key to winning 37 in row and 141 on the season is a bit of luck: 27-7 in 1 run games and 9-2 in xtra innings.
Or maybe the fact that they could do that was because they had middle reliever god: A endurance, 10 ERA rating, 1.51 ERA with 125 IP and .81 WHIP. He basically would shut everyone down until Minnesota scored. I looked through old Almanacs to see if any other teams had had long winning streaks, but couldn't figure out if there is a record kept somewhere. Does anybody know? |
