Sportsman Baseball League
League name: Sportsman Baseball League
Version: OOTP 24 League Type: Modern MLB - coming up on the trade deadline for the 2034 season Sim Schedule: Live Sims are Monday, Wednesday, Saturday Evenings, more frequently in offseason RULES: http://bit.ly/sbl-rules SETTINGS: http://bit.ly/sbl-settings STATSPLUS: https://atl-01.statsplus.net/spbl/ **Low Scouting Accuracy** Normal Injury Setting 20-80 Relative Ratings Utilizes **Slack** for communication. Competitive balance mechanisms, including draft picks, draft lottery, and a more relevant luxury tax Very competitive league, with lots of great GMs in here. It won't be easy! First-time online league friendly, we have "mentor" GMs to set you up with so if you have questions or issues, you can get a quick and thorough answer. Current openings for: Tampa Bay Rays - Although in last place in the AL East, still only 2 games back of a wild card berth (the AL only has 3 teams over .500 currently). The team needs some TLC and is in a tighter spot financially, but a surprise playoff push may help things there. Farm System: #12 per OSA Budget: #19 Los Angeles Dodgers The Dodgers just reached the end of their competitive cycle riding Betts, Seager, et. al. to the end of their careers and have rebounded after a rough 2033 season (currently 1.5 games off the NL West lead and just .5 games back in the Wild Card). A rebuild (or re-tool due to budget) is probably needed long term. Although the farm system is not strong, so you might need to spend that $$$ to improve the roster. Farm System: #29 Budget: #3 San Diego Padres The Padres are a large budget behemoth in the league with a $280m payroll and are currently leading the NL West. While the farm system is at the bottom of the league (headlined by the league's #13 prospect, Josh Allison), nearly $160m is coming off the books at season's end, allowing a new GM to make this team their own. Farm System: #20 Budget: #2 Visit https://forms.gle/j1zB2Ew8y6iTcXUc6 to apply! Last edited by buk22; 03-14-2024 at 01:25 PM. |

It's a really great league with many long term committed members. Person who was running sims for a while (me) just got very busy in real life and had difficulty keeping up the same pace of every other day sims.
Took a while to find someone to help take over sims and some other duties, but we're back going at full steam now. |

This is an awesome league - I have been a GM for a long time now, always well run and great core group of GMs.

Updated with current openings (details on open teams can be found here, with info on league settings/rules found in the first post). We are just starting the amateur draft, so it's a great time to come on board!
Current openings for: Tampa Bay Rays - The Rays are currently playing .500 ball, and have been attempted to remain relevant after dealing Wander Franco, but have a couple of nice pieces you could build around (or deal to kickstart a full rebuild). Currently $8m in the hole for the current season, and will need some TLC in the short term. Farm System: #11 per OSA Budget: #19 Washington Nationals Juan Soto is still here and is fresh off a 9 WAR season at age 34. There are holes on the big league roster, but the farm is strong and the team is flush with cash ($95m under budget this season), so there is room to put your stamp on this team. Farm System: #4 Budget: #13 Los Angeles Dodgers The Dodgers just reached the end of their competitive cycle riding Betts, Seager, et. al. to the end of their careers and are coming off a rough 2033. A rebuild (or re-tool due to budget) is needed. Although the farm system is last in the league, they do have 2 top 100 prospects (#94 and #98 per OSA). Farm System: #30 Budget: #3 San Diego Padres The Padres are a large budget behemoth in the league with a $280m payroll and are off to a strong 14-5 start. While the farm system is at the bottom of the league, nearly $160m is coming off the books at season's end, giving a new GM the opportunity to make this team their own. Farm System: #29 Budget: #2 This is a solid league, but has experienced some scheduling issues with sims recently, leading to a high turnover of GMs. Newly appointed sim coordinator/assistant commish is able to dedicate the time necessary to ensure a strict sim schedule and team participation.
