Choice of Assistant Coach

Is there a way to choose your own primary Assistant Coach when playing as GM/Coach?

I can choose who I want for my Goaltender, Forward, Defense and Skills Coaches but can't seem to find the means to choose my own Head Coach assistant.

I am assuming that it is this Assistant Coach who guides the AI selection process etc. when called upon, correct?

Finally, does whoever occupies this position then make any difference in the AI organization / line selection chosen?

No, you can't pick at this time. It goes to the highest ranked assistant.

Short answer is no, as I said. They'll help maybe shape your tactics, but the AI would take your best available choices.
