Game Crashing in 2D mode

I'm playing a historical game of the 49-50 Red Wings. I copied the game over from FHM 9 and I've tried twice to play the next game in the season (2D) and the game crashed in the middle of the 1st period both times. Any help is appreciated.

Was the save in mid-season when you updated? It needs to be on July 1 to work properly.
