Networked Saved Game Files

Hi everyone - I am in a wonderful online league that requires constant attention. Due to my erratic brain and general lifestyle, I frequently swap between my desktop PC and laptop throughout the day. I would like to be able to share the same save files between the two of them so if I make some changes on one PC, the two aren't out of sync when I load on the other.

Has anyone been able to successfully do this? I'm thinking about attempting to simply remap the saved games folder to an SMB share and have everything accessible there. Any suggestions?

Dropbox is a bit finicky, because OOTP saves are in the form of a bunch of small files, but it's probably the best service for this.

If you want to use an SMB share you could probably use some sort of symbolic linking. So if you copied the saved_game.lg folder to \\server\ootp, you could do this in a Windows command prompt:

Do this at your own risk, and make sure you have a backup of the saved game folder first!

Code:
cd C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 24\saved_games
rmdir saved_game.lg /s /q
mklink /d \saved_game.lg \\server\ootp\saved_game.lg
Of course, this would affect save and load times because it's all going of the network, but it should theoretically work. If you look in your saved_games folder the saved_game.lg folder should have a small "arrow" icon on it indicating it's a symbolic link - basically a shortcut but one that Windows treats as a direct link. So anything you copy into that folder automatically gets redirected to the SMB server and OOTP is ultimately none the wiser about it.
