How to delete players?

In my attempt to create a 1972 SuperLeague (see below), there are multiple version of several players. But I can't figure out how to delete the "extra" players. Li'l help?

In FHM9 I was importing teams and I did not wanted the players get involved so I made duplicate save. After that I imported all the teams that I wanted and released all players from imported teams (not sure if that release is still necressary). After that I took players.dat -file from the save without imported teams and added it to save with imported teams. Now I have imported teams without imported players.

If you already have those duplicate players in your game then I think only way is to retrie those that you don't want. Also you can rename those retried players if you don't want to find those if you use search function.

Yeah, retiring and renaming them would be the best way. They can't be deleted outright.

And how do you retire players? (Geez, I wish the FHM architecture was as straightforward as the one in OOTP!)

With commissioner mode on, player screen, edit tab, "retired" checkbox under personal details.

It's not that complicated unless you're new to the game and that comes with the territory.

I've been asking for a while for the WHA and PCHA (and NHA now) franchises to be added to the 'Add Hist Team' menu. Or just have an
option on the 'Import Hist Team' to not include the players.

Been playing this game for seven editions, pal, but nice try.

I keep buying the game hoping they'll make it more user-friendly, and I keep getting let down.
