some info on two-way players needed...
In a 2021 league, Ohtani appears to be defaulted as a two-way player (even though on his Strategy page his Use as a Two-Way Player box is grayed out; but the Use as Two-Way box reveals that it is checked if I check the Lock to Team... box...
Same as above for Babe Ruth, 1918...
However, in a 1914 league, Doc Crandall (27 games & 21 starts as a pitcher, 63 games & 55 starts as a second-baseman) is not a two-way player; rather, he's only a pitcher.
I'm thinking the explanation for this is one of two things:
1. Only "marquee" 2-way players are coded/defaulted to be two-way...
... or perhaps...
2. Whatever coding (that looks for guys who were 2-way and gives them two-way settings) only applies to majors (1914 Doc Crandall played in the Federal League, which - in OOTP - is a minor league)
Anybody have any info on this?
