Opened my first ever perfect pack

And got Carlos Rodon (should've been a sad trombone instead of fireworks)

If I had waited until after the live player update and he loses his perfect status, would I still have pulled him?

Are the cards generated when you get the pack or when you open it?

The cards are generated on the rip, not the purchase/award of the pack

Don't forget to sell him by Sunday. He won't be a Perfect on Monday the way he's pitched since his return. My eyes hurt just looking at those statistics, and he's actually been helped by an unusually low BABIP. It could've been a lot worse.

There's no action on him in the market (unsurprisingly) and the lowest sell orders would net less than 20k after the 10% tax so I just quick sold him to be safe.

It was the pack I got for completing Negro Leagues level 1 so at least the 20k feels like a nice little bonus to what I already got

On a somewhat related question what missions should I focus on now that I'm done with the live missions and negro league 1? BAL doesn't seem all that much fun and gets kind of pricey after the golds but that Mickey Mantle card sure looks shiny. Are the NL2 toppers worth the price of those missions?

You can never get less than the QS for any card posted. The tax is waived.
There are no missions to focus on right now. The next one would be NeL 2, which will be substantially cheaper to complete in about 6-8 weeks. You are correct to avoid the BAL missions; too expensive for the rewards and always will be.

BTW, you did the Topps mission for Betts, right? That one, I explain in another thread how to do it for less than 20K.

I have not done the Topps one for Betts yet, I'll have to look up that post.

I pulled the live Aaron Judge card in a regular pack the other day and he's been a monster for me in stone so far, should I still go for Betts or just keep that card in RF? I can still sell him before the update, will he will also lose his ratings from injury?

I don't think Judge is a long term solution if you want to play competitively in diamond league. Probably, neither is Betts, but I prefer the security of historical cards that can be obtained cheaply and then sold later on for a profit. Live perfect cards have zero upside value-wise.

I use Betts in CF, Stearnes in RF, and recommend for stone Allison in LF. You can put a buy order for 5K which should be quickly filled. Then, when you are ready to "trade" it in, the Twins History mission will drop likely doubling its value overnight!

The Allison card is very good value in low level leagues, but I don't know about a Twins mission. The existing team missions center on the new Hall of Fame inductees. Do you think they're filling out a team mission set, or is this done?

In any case, Mookie plays through Diamond level and is a must have. He's also best used in center field until you get to Diamond, where he'll still be adequate if you don't have the newer Lynn card or one of the high-priced monsters. My Mookie is hitting .301/.366/.471 at Diamond in the default ballpark and is positive defensively in right field. He was a slight positive in center until everyone started acquiring the Lynn card. My Diamond outfield is currently Mantle in left, Lynn in center, and Mookie in right. If I still had Stearnes, I'd probably platoon him with Mookie in right.

I guessed it is fixed to get Charles Rodon when you open your first perfect pack.

I've almost got Mookie, Trammell shot up in price the last few days so I'm replacing him with the three 15 point golds since that's cheaper now
