PT: Clan selection and associated league placement

Something that I know has been a lot of busy work for folks in the Theme Team Crew, especially its administrator EVC, is handling changes to friends lists every week to make sure you're grouped with the right teams for the next week's league and level. This gets tricky when there's more than 30 teams at a level, too.

I'm suggesting a new clan feature to be overlaid on top of the friends list. This way, what's currently a weekly headache becomes a simple set and forget. Here's one way to implement.
  • New league placement settings: use clan, use clan and friends list
  • In PT Universe section, add a Clans tab with a list of all available clans.
  • Offer an option to create a clan - this would be controlled by OOTP Developments to avoid clutter and potential bad actors
  • In the list of existing clans, an application to join button is provided to users.
  • Clan owners or admins can approve or reject requests to join
  • For league placement, if use clan is present, all members of the clan are treated as a super-friends list and take priority in placement

Strong support! There are many groups of users who enjoy competing among themselves in addition to across the game. This would be a solid addition, and one of particular value to groups as large as those who play as part of the Theme Team Community.

Would be huge time saver

While I have the 2-3 hours a week maintenance of the lists, there are 190-200 teams each spending 15-20 minutes a week updating friends lists. I've been told by many that the extra burden of updating teams has made them drop out of maintaining teams in the Theme Team leagues they might otherwise enjoy the competition with (e.g. Frostcrest has 4-5 theme teams and always forgets to update the friends lists, so he's running them independently, but we're missing out on his creative themes).

It would also help us deal with situations where at different levels we have more than 30 teams -- currently we have in the high 30s in four or five different levels and people are randomly scattered among different leagues - a league of 30 and an additional league of 9 would be great - or separating into two leagues would work - the most important part is keeping theme teams together.

Please see the current teams https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...qYg/edit#gid=0

Would be happy to walk through the process of maintaining we do today.

My Birthday Boys theme team - which bounces between Bronze and Silver - and I wholeheartedly support this!

As a fellow affiliate streamer I know how tedious tasks like these can become when preparing content for the community. Simplifying the process will create more engagement with the theme team universe and make EVC and other possible admins of clans work a lot easier. With a new theme team thread on the Discord now this makes sense as the next logical step - if not in OOTP24 then maybe in a future version!!!

Help Maintain Communities with this Feature

This would go a long wait to maintain our Theme Team Community. Please add!

Add my voice to those in STRONG favor of this concept! As many of you know, my time spent in-game has suffered because of in-home quality-of-life issues, and the less time spent maintaining my theme team's needs, the better!

I would love that idea.
In addition I would imagine more/other sub communitys would emerge, too, hence giving people a closer binding to the game. It would make things much easier to organize; not everyone can have an EVCinNYC as el jefe.

Love it, would gladly answer a survey or participate in a focus group done by the OOTP folks to refine and add features for theme teams or "BFF" type grouping functionality
