Is This a Bug?
Curious how the batted ball profile of a player with these bars can go from flyball hitter in '23 to groundball hitter in '24. Is this just a temporary bug and it'll fix itself (online league so I don't know yet) or what? see attached

Also please ignore the "Average" accuracy on the second screenshot, that's because I was clicked on OSA for that one but my scout is in agreement with OSA at Very High Accuracy as a GB hitter now

Is it a different year? If the 23 screenshot was in-season and the 24 screenshot is the off-season after that year, the player may have evolved/developed and changed the kind of hitter he is. I doubt things like groundball hitter are locked for the life of a player so it may just be where you are in his development cycle that the game "developed" him. Just a guess.

A week apart technically because of the final sim, just one on OOP23 and the other on OOTP24. The game has never naturally devved a Flyball to a Groundball. A Normal to a GB, or a Normal to a Line Drive, or a GB to a Normal, yes, I have seen that. Never Flyball to GB with 75 power
I do appreciate someone actually replying though. Thank you. Hoping to hear from a dev |

Those values aren't locked in the same way that the spray options are. So they can change.
Most likely, their actual profile output won't really be any different - it might be the sort of thing where they shift from like 35% to 37% groundball rate, and that's enough to make that the "dominant" output of theirs. Batting average on flyballs is always low, so it's hard for someone with that high a contact rating to have a flyball profile, even with the power. |
