New Custom Game Question

I never really used this feature and decided to give it a try. Under fictional it says players are real, historical or entirely fictional. I wanted to play with historical players but, unless its just feature on the desktop version, which is entirely possible I don't see how it would work.

I can't access League rules and settings until after the initial draft pool is generated. When you do get to rules and settings there is even an option for random rookies from all eras which leads me to believe it is possible because there would be no reason to have random debut with all fictional players.

If anybody knows how to make this work, or if it can work, please let me know. I checked the online manual for ootp 24 and didn't give me much info.
