Waiver Trade

I just received word that I can finalize my waiver trade. How does one do that? Also, I forgot who was involved!

every time I tried, after the deadline, there is no option to do anything.

all closed with a "deadline has passed" message.

MLB got rid of trade waivers back in 2019. This meant players could not be traded at all after the trade deadline.

But in OOTP you can still place a player on waivers, and entertain any deals that are offered. Not sure how this really differs from designating a player for assignment. In either case, other teams with interest in the player can try to work a deal, to prevent him becoming a free agent.

You would have to turn waiver trades on in your league settings. It's likely off by default for a standard setup since like LGO said it isn't allowed anymore.

Then OOTP is not recreating MLB rules as they currently exist. (Unless trade waivers are an option the user can select.)

In real life, trade waivers were revocable, so if a player was claimed the player could be pulled back.

Designating a player for assignment is effectively irrevocable. The player is immediately removed from the 40-man roster, with his final disposition either being released or assigned to a different major or minor league team, depending on what the player's team wants to do.

I'm playing 24 in default mode. It's August 3rd, and trades are occurring. It's the waivers trading thing. How do I prevent this? TY
