Live Start 40 man rosters
I tried starting a Live Start game yesterday and noticed every team's 40 man roster seemed to only have the active (26) players on them.
Is that expected or could it be an issue with the roster set? Last edited by PumpDunkler; 04-07-2023 at 09:08 AM. Reason: grammar |

There is a MLB team roster and a 40 man roster, just like MLB. If you would have started the game before the 1st real MLB (season opener) game you would probably have more than 28 on the roster and would have to get to 28.
I do wish a new season would start at spring training though. There is an option to have AI make the opening day roster. I have used it. Hope this helps. |

Yeah, I started a Live Start on April 6th (yesterday) and the Rockies have the correct 26 man active roster, but their 40 man roster only has 26/40 players on it. Quick glance at the rest of the league showed the same thing for other teams. Didn't know if the 40 man rosters were supposed to be accurate on live start.

Setting the 40-man increases the possibility of the AI making odd decisions as it is going to have a different evaluation of the roster than the real-life team.
So, I believe, they leave that open outside of the Active roster to prevent those problems. Plus, I'm not sure if the 40-man roster is even available from the data provider they use for Live Start. To answer the question directly. Yes, that is expected. |
