Crashing when launching PT Tourneys or Creating historical game

OOTP 24, Patch 28

Windows 10 Build 19045.2728

Image doesn't seem to want to load.

Error occurs when I attempt to open a PT Tournament or to start an Historical game, as soon as I click "Next" after first screen. Issue just started last night, afaik. Has not stopped me from launching PT.

Error message starts:
XML Parsing error
not well-formed (invalid token) at line 16629

It then llists a number of cities, apparently from a database, beginning with
<CITY is="3997" name="Ariankappam"

After the game closes there is a DOS window that says :
Unable to load geographic data. Perhaps you're using an old version of the world_default.xml file.

And a a box that says "Unable to load geographical data. Perhaps you're using an old version of the world_default.xml file.

I forgot to mention that I purchased game on Steam and it has been updating automatically.

Lets try attaching the error message.

This looks like a write-permissions error.

Can you try running Steam/OOTP in admin mode and see if it fixes this?
