Trading International Salary Cap bugged or working as intended?

Last season I traded for an extra 2.8m of international cap, but after spending that extra 2.8 I was penalized for it the next season when I couldn't spend more than a few hundred k on any single player. So I ended up trading away all of my cap for that year since I couldn't use it. Is it supposed to work that way?

Good question I'd like the answer to as well. Also, when trading for international cap space, can you not ask for just a portion of the team's cap space, or do you only have the choice of all or nothing, which appears to be my case?

It's right on the player trade window. If a team has International Signing Bonus Pool money available, it appears there. If they don't, it's grayed out.

Yeah this is indeed a bug which we're aware of and fixed; which'll come out in the next patch.

It's a new feature to OOTP24 along with the international amateur FA changes You can find it on the normal trade screen if you scroll down in the offers section.

It also seems like people have some understandable confusion about the trading pool space, so lemme see if I can clear some stuff up. The cap trading rules in OOTP are the same as in real life, and the real life rules are indeed very confusing haha. Here's the general list;

An MLB club can trade up to 100% of its ISBP (international signing bonus pool), and a club can acquire up to 60% of its assigned ISBP via trade or trades.

While up to 100% of a club's originally-assigned ISBP (plus up to an additional 60% of the club's originally-assigned ISBP that might be acquired in a trade or trades) can be traded, there are some restrictions:

A club's ISBP (or a portion of it) can only be traded during the International Signing Period (ISP) to which the ISBP was assigned. In real life this is January 15th through December 15th, but in OOTP this is from the signing period start until the next IAFA reveal.

A club can trade ISBP space only in increments of $250K (including multiples of $250K) unless the club was trading all of its remaining ISBP in one transaction.

There are some additional rules but they don't apply to OOTP. So if one of these rules isn't met, the trade button will be greyed out.

Thx Will, been trying to find info on this online for days. Couldn't find it in the manual either. If it's in there, where? If not, could probably use a manual update and/or a sticky thread.

Good point, I'll see what I can do about getting more info in the manual

Note: Expansion teams (in my experience) have no int'l spending money available to them; this should be fixed (and, ideally, editable at the team level, I think).

Thanks for bringing this up, I'll check out what's going on with that

*EDIT* so it appears that when the teams are created it won't have any money assigned, but when the players are revealed it will generate the bonus pool so there isn't any problem. However, I did change it such that the pools are created right away to avoid confusion when the league expands

Sorry to bump an old thread but I literally have never seen this option not grayed out. I'm not sure what I'm missing or doing wrong. I have International FA Bonus Pool money, I'm within the time period where I'm allowed to send it, and it's always grayed out.

Any ideas?

Is the option to trade bonus money activated in the settings for your league?
