Trade sliders

I’m at work and don’t have the game opened right now, so my apologies for not having the exact wording of these settings, but here is my question…..

Last night when poking around the game I saw 2 adjustable sliders for trades. I believe one was a trade difficulty, don’t recall exactly what the 2nd slider was but it also dealt with trades. The default setting on both of those sliders was past the halfway point of the slider.

My question here would be, are the default settings on both sliders identical to the trading difficulty / trading AI from the last few years? Or, since the sliders are past the halfway point, are the default settings on OOTP24 geared towards making trading more challenging than years past and if that were the case then would dropping both sliders down to the halfway point be bringing the game closer to the trade engine of the last few years?

P.S. haven’t gotten very deep into things yet, but first impression of the visuals are a big thumbs up.

In OOTP 23, the default position of the trade sliders was in the middle. In OOTP 24, I'm seeing the trading difficulty slider several ticks to the right by default, but the trading preferences slider is still in the middle. I suspect that this is simply to make trades with the AI a bit more difficult by default. They are certainly quite easy with the old default settings, and I always changed the difficulty to the maximum and left the preferences alone.

If you prefer an experience similar to OOTP 23 or previous versions, then you may want to adjust the trading difficult back to the middle. But this assumes that baseline AI trading behavior has remained the same as past versions. The developers often try to improve the AI from version to version, so the slider effects will be relative to whatever that underline baseline behavior is.

Yeah, I'm not saying I prefer one over the other. I was just curious since normally I would consider sliders to be at 50% as the default setting.

Being that these were a little "cranked up" by default, it made me curious if the default settings of OOTP 24 were specifically geared towards making trades a little more challenging.
