I did that, and got 36 again. Do I need to uninstall the original download files? I thought it would overwrite them. The new download didn't require the license.

No uninstall necessary. Just download the new .exe file and re-run it and it will write over parts of the current game as it installs, preserving your saves. If it is still coming in as 36, they'll need to check the link but you have it right WRT how to do it.

I stillget popup window but at bottmn of screen it shows Build 37

I had the same issue coming in at 36. So basically all we do is click the new link and it’ll do the same thing as the initial download and just overwrite everything?

The latest link will download a new .exe file (for PCs). Just double-click it to install it. Easy as that. The version number is always at the very bottom of the start screen in the fine print.
