Lightbulb Perfect Team 24 Launch Plan

OK, so here is how we will launch the OOTP 24 beta & the final release this week.

(Note: All of this does NOT apply to OOTP 23 Perfect Team, that will continue to run as usual.)

IMPORTANT: If you played PT23, the login info carries over to PT24, please do NOT create a new account but rather simply log in with your PT23 username & password! Cards & PP balances etc. will not carry over, as in previous years. Only your username & password does.
We also have a loyalty bonus program, which looks at your PT24 account (username & email) and if this account has been active for previous Perfect Team versions, it gets the following bonus (skipping one version reduces the bonus to the next level):
Since Perfect Team 19: 3 Diamond, 5 Gold Packs
Since Perfect Team 20: 2 Diamond,4 Gold Packs
Since Perfect Team 21: 1 Diamond, 3 Gold Packs
Since Perfect Team 22: 2 Gold Packs
Since Perfect Team 23: 1 Gold Pack

Tuesday, March 21
On Tuesday, sometime in the morning US (ET) time, those who pre-ordered the Fastspring webstore version will receive an email containing download links once the public OOTP 24 beta is available, and we will also post the download links on the forums, so you can still pre-order and access the beta after March 21.

You will be able to create / log into a Perfect Team account and team, however, this is just for the beta! You also get 50k PP and about 25 packs to play around with, but this is just for the beta. You will NOT be able to buy PP and absolutely everything (PP, cards, team) will be reset on Friday for the official launch.

Wednesday, March 22 and (most likely) Thursday March 23
We will release a public beta OOTP 24 patch which fixes reported problems of the past day. We will set up a sub forum here for you to report problems and feedback.

Friday, March 24 - Official Launch Day
At around 2-3 AM ET (essentially in the middle of the night) we will reset all PT24 beta teams and shut down simulation servers. At around 7 AM ET, the system will be reopened and you can log in (using the same PT23 username & email combination to qualify for the loyalty rewards) or register a new account and set up your brand new team again, open your starter packs (plus any bonus packs) etc. PP purchase will be available at that time, too. However, simulations will NOT start yet, we don't want Steam users to be at an disadvantage.

On 9 AM ET the game will officially launch worldwide, on Steam, Epic and for the Fastspring webstore customers, all at a 10% launch discount (same as pre-order discount). Download links for the final version will be emailed to pre-order customers. At that time, all users that now have the game can log in to PT 24 or create their accounts and start their teams, load up on PP if needed etc.

On around noon ET the first Entry Pool leagues get created and simulations start either exactly at that time or half an hour later.

Monday, March 27 - First promotion round
At the usual time (morning ET) we will start the first PT24 promotion round. This time, we will populate the first five levels (Rookie, Stone, Iron, Bronze, Silver) based on team winning % compiled in the entry pool. Teams with less than 30 games in the Entry Pool will automatically start at the Rookie level. Simulations will begin 10 AM ET, as usual.

Friday, March 31
On Friday (8 AM ET) the 10% launch week discount will end.

Info about the new feature "Perfect Team Live" launch: In Perfect Team Live you set a team based on 2023 Live cards, and depending on the daily real-life performance of the players you selected, you will receive rewards. This feature is still under development and will likely not be ready for MLB Opening Day. We will launch it as soon as possible, though.

Any questions?

Cheers,
Markus

How does OOTP Go factor into this? Will the 24 version come out around the same time?

OOTP Go should be ready for launch on or shortly after MLB Opening Day.

Concerning PT Live. Will the lineup of one day be automatically carried over to the next day, if for some reason you are unable to create a new lineup? Better to get something from a sub-optimal lineup than nothing from no lineup.

Understanding Loyalty Program

I get confused about this every year. Does the loyalty program kick in after the beta? I think last year I opened those packs during the beta and everything was wiped along with other packs earned during Beta (which lines up with the first sentence). Should I be holding on opening until after the beta is over, is it just a loyalty program for the Beta test?

If it's just in the beta test, it doesn't feel like it's actually an award if it doesn't apply to your real PT team. Also might want to make sure it's clear it's a beta loyalty program.

Sorry if I'm just not understanding correctly.

Everything after the beta gets wiped out and reset. When you create your team initially on Friday or after, you will have the loyalty packs assigned to your team again.

So does it know that I played perfect team on Steam, because I've bought it directly from you guys since OOTP 22 but I've played OOTP 20 and 21 on steam

bugs?

Are we mentioning those here?
I checked the missions and once you get to the points mission you can see the top 10 cards but can't scroll down to the other cards - you can see the tops of 5 more so there must be more cards to pick from. At least this happens on mine!

When you go into collection, you can read the View & Default, but all the filter tabs are half cut off.

Pre-1930s and 1990s are still quite difficult to read.

Love it though, these are just notes!

PT is live and available to login.

A reminder that the entry pools will place teams starting at noon, with sims starting there or at 12:30. Tournaments will open for teams to join when you are placed in the entry pool

Just got home from work and fired up my teams. I signed up for 3 normal tournaments, then went to Perfect Draft tournaments and saw that there are no Quick Perfect Draft tournaments. Is this just at the start, or is this a change for PD?

Yes, it is a change. There are no Quick Perfect Drafts in PT24.

That's a bit sad. As a FTP player, those did not depend on my having bought the right cards, just put together a good team. One less avenue for the FTP player to compete on a level playing field.

There are still plenty of daily and weekly options with good prizes. The amount of time to draft and set up a roster makes sense to focus more on the larger prize tournaments.
