Unhappy She dumped me in the World Series!

After scraping a win against the best pitcher in the league in the first game of the World series, my girlfriend (ironically named Harmony...) dumped me. Women really know when to hit you.

This post got me to thinking a bit about Manager Mode..... why is "marriage" always the major personal life issue in this mode ? Managers are almost always aged later in life and most likely are already married - many with kids.

Wouldn't it be more realistic to pick up a persona at middle age with most of your kids already on their way to adulthold ? You could even add in divorce and alimony and getting remarried - but it would be closer to reality than starting out like you were a 25 year old and manager of a major league team....

Just a thought.

You can already start married with kids in manager mode. Then depending on the age you are, will affect how old the kids are it seems. If you're in your 20s or 30s, you'll have kids around 8 years old, but if you're older, could have some teens.

That's become my chosen way to start, since you might get your kid ready for the pros a bit quicker that way.

I was married for 20+ years with three kids and my wife divorced me after a season where I won the WS. Go figure, maybe i was devoting too much time to my job?

You'll get over her. There are hundreds just like her in bars all across America. You may never get another chance to win the Series though. Remember, the Series winner gets to visit the White House. They have interns there. Who knows where this could all lead, but I've heard some wild stories about some of those interns.

Millions of people have wedding rings. Only a select few have World Series rings.

That reminds me... some of the saddest folk in society - you can see them in small bars in minor league towns. Big hair, lots of make-up.... could almost be a baseball player themselves by injection . . .

I remember a local minor league team had a "Parents" program when I worked for them... was supposed to be folk in the community who helped the young A ball players get adjusted - help them shop for food, wash clothes, et al. Instead, it was 30-40 something female divorcees looking for a little Graduate baseball style - or older middle aged couples looking for a little spice in their life.

At least if you are a career minor leaguer you can have groupies from Iron Town or Howell County to fall back on. Then when your arm explodes you can live in harmony at Paradise Park or some-such with your former groupie wife.

Harmony who? Just went 3-0 in the WS, and met up with beautiful Brianna in the bar after the game. Hope she lasts the series...
