Rain Delays
I've been playing ootp for what seems like forever. I come to the forums often to pick up some knowledge, but I don't think I have ever posted a thread. Every year the new versions come with improved AI, nicer graphics, and improved overall play. But the way the game handles rain delays is something I feel needs some improvement. Today, I played a game with an 11 minute delay. This seems almost impossible. I think delays shjould be no less than 30 minutes. I doubt any grounds crew can roll out the tarp and then roll it back up in 11 minutes. And I notice that if there is a lengthy rain delay it does not affect the pitcher's stamina. I have been able to continue with my SP after a delay of over 45 minutes with no effect many times.

I've definitely seen it affect a pitcher's stamina. I don't know if it affects it realistically, or every time it should.

It certainly affects my pitchers. If seems that if the delay is longer than 30 minutes, my pitcher's stamina goes way down. Whether or not this is realistic, I can't answer?

I suppose if you wanted to invent reasons that this would happen, you could pretend that there was a big downpour and then an 11 minute delay while the grounds crew came out to spread drying agent on the mound and around the bases.
I think the real question is how correlated the length of the delay is with the effects in game, does the 11 minutes do anything? I often don't even notice these because I sim half-innings. And if the starter is on the mound still I use his pitch count at the time of delay to decide. If he is fresh I'll usually throw him back out there and see what happens. Which seems vaguely realistic, since I think there are a million variables at play. What time of day/night is it, how many pitches/how much trouble has the pitcher had, how fresh is the pen, how much pen will you need the next few days, what does the pitcher say/feel, etc. etc. etc.

I have rain delays and rainouts enabled, but still my team has never experienced either one and I play every pitch.
