Mass import of players by adding records to comma-delimited file

I exported the Major League roster of CBLCardinals' work to a comma-delimited file, and I want to import some, but not all of those players into a custom league I have. I copy and pasted those CBLCardinals records into my custom league comma-delimited file, making sure the player ID (the first field in the file) is unique to my custom league file. When I import the file, the CBLCardinals players don't import. If I manually create dummy players from within OOTP, export that roster, then copy and paste the CBLCardinals players over those dummy players, then the CBLCardinals players import into my game. Is there a way to mass import players into OOTP using a comma-delimited file without first having to create players in OOTP?

You can't just make up your own PlayersID and import them, they must be created in by the game in game first.
