Help with Historical Drafts

Hey there, I am looking for help regarding the draft pool creation for a historical leagues set in 1996.

I am able to set the league up so that players enter the draft based on their MiLB debut, but my issue is the game continues to juice up players who never made the MLB. Often times its relievers, and it almost seems as though it is treating stats from BC/DE leagues as though they are MLB leagues. Guys like Johan Santana and Tim Hudson come in rated as you would expect for a draft prospect, but guys like Brett Black and Andy Smith (neither of whom made it past A-Ball) are rated as MLB ready Ps.

Please any help or insight is welcomed.

I am able to deduce the issue, just not the fix. The players that are juiced had great years in rookie leagues and A ball the year they entered the draft. It is valuing those players low level stats as MLB level stats.

Please place in the bug reports section if not already done, although not sure it'll get much traction this late in the cycle.

I have noticed the exact same problem and submitted a bug report previously. We definitely need to make sure this isn't in OOTP 24. While the instances are relatively rare, the game is definitely converting A-level stats as MLB-equivalent in some cases, or it's not properly adjusting the ratings for minor league level once they're calculated.

I've seen some cases where a player comes in as a 5-star MLB superstar-level performer when he should be in A ball, and that's not reasonable at all.

I've also seen cases where players who had really strong AAA stats are given ratings that are a bit too high for what they did in MLB. But I don't mind those as much. Those are at least believable "what if" cases.

Can you provide specific names and years so those line-items in the MiLB database can be checked to determine source and if there is a pattern causing it? Thanks

I already sent a number of examples directly to OOTP support, and there was acknowledgement that they're working on the issue. But one of the best examples is Doug Potestio, who made his minor league debut in 1980.

Potestio had some fantastic minor league stats that year, but OOTP converts those low-level class A stats into 5-star MLB talent. His initial ratings make him one of the top starters in baseball and a #1 starter for any MLB club.

OOTP has done this in every instance where Potestio gets imported into my saves and test saves, and I've ended up having to delete him each time to eliminate the problem.

Similar problems occur with other players, but it usually only affects a handful of players in a given draft class, and most aren't as extreme as Potestio's case. Usually it involves players with really good initial stats in what OOTP classifies as the BC level. But it certainly doesn't happen with everyone or in any way that I can identify as a consistent pattern or common denominator.
