Request: 30 teams, 169 games
Hey y'all. New to the forum and wanted to make a request. I've got a modern MLB structured league--AL/NL, each league with 3 divisions of 5 teams--and am looking to make a 169-game schedule. My hope is to have 5-game series for intra-division and -league play, and 4-game series for inter-league play. I'm fine with adding a few games in one or more categories to get it up to 169, but I want at least 30 games of inter-league play. Would massively appreciate help! Thanks everyone

I think I have something sketched out, but I want to get some feedback before proceeding...
I have it with 60 intradivision games (15 per opponent), 70 intraleague games (5 against 3 teams in each other division and 10 against the other 2 teams in each other division), and 36 interleague games (4 against 3 teams in each interleague division). Yes, that only gets to 166, so the plan to get to 169 is to add another 3-game interleague series against a team not already playing. That will unbalance the home/away, which happens with an odd number of games. If that is fine there are a few details to clarify. * Okay to make the season span like MLB, but a week longer with several games? Figuring start late March and end early October. * Implicit in that span is that having offdays about as frequently as MLB does now. But since with nearly all 4- and 5-game series the usual two-series-per-week pattern will not apply. So the season could easily be made a little longer with somewhat more frequent offdays or a little shorted with fewer offdays. * Want an All-Star Game? Assuming so, want it like MLB, a little after midpoint of season?

That works, yes! Thank you. As for the bullet points:
- The plan was to start in mid-March (around the 15th) and have the season run as long as it needs to. I don't mind. - More frequent offdays works for me, although less frequent is more chaotic which is the point of this league. Do what you want with that haha - Yes, I was intending an All-Star Game, about 55-60% of the way through the season. Two league-wide off-days before the ASG would probably give me enough time for that. Thanks so much for being willing to help! I've spent all day trying to make my own extremely botched schedule to little effect so I greatly appreciate this. |
