truncated season or round robin with a few teams

I want want to play some 2001 teams against each other. 8-10 teams and a 40 game season. Or a round robin where each team play 4 games at least against each other. Is there a way to do this?

I know how to do it by manually setting up a schedule, which would work for just 8-10 teams and forty games. But I think the game would create the kind of schedule you are looking for, with all of the teams in a single league.
