Contract negotiation screen if a player is not interested joining

Club X accepted a transfer fee and I clicked "Finalize transfer" option on a news item. However, when entering a contract negotiation screen I saw the player was not interested.

For some reason, "Meet demand" button is not disabled even an player's contract offer isn't disclosed. After clicking "Meet demand" (out of curiosity) the screen is a bit messed, as you can see from the screenshot I attached.

I guess a more convenient way is to disable "Finalize transfer" from the news item in those cases transfer fee is accepted by a club and just inform a human player that a player isn't interested joining your club. Saves a click or two...

It went directly to the "I'm not interested in further negotiations" response? That shouldn't be happening. Had you previously tried signing him as a free agent? I think we'll need to see the save (and know which player this is) to figure out exactly what went wrong there.

Yes, went directly to the "not interested" mode. And no, it was a first time I attempted to sign this player.

Faced this again with 2 players. This time one of those players had earlier a contact with my team, but I didn't try resigning this time. (That player had a busy summer, btw, 1st round draft pick, NHL contract, sent to AHL, contract terminated and then signing for a 3rd tier league in Finland. Also something fishy here...see a screenshot)

If I try to think what's a common feature, it's that I tried to buy these players from the lower tier leagues: one from Czech 1st division (Adam Mechura), 1 from Finnish Mestis (1st division) and 1 from Finnish Suomi-Sarja (2nd division). It has never happened when trading with a top tier clubs. It's now November 12th 2026 in my game, for a record.

AI logic gets somehow twisted in these situations, where a lower league player has a chance to sign for a top league team in middle of a season.

(It's also a bit odd that when offering a trade sum, the GM says "can't add this much salary to the payroll". Even there's no salaries involved...? See a screenshot. This also happens when making a deal with a lower tier club.)

I added some screenshots, hope they help. There are probably multiple issues, not necessary entwined together, but it's hard to judge what is irrelevant and what's not.

Can you upload the save? I'd like to have a look at the exact circumstances.
