Player editor - neutral environment
I'm starting a new semi-historical league that will require me to edit players from time to time. With that, I want to be sure I know how to define a "neutral, modern Major League environment" with regard to the player editor.
I entered Resulting Stats into the editor until I got 100 ratings across the board for hitters and pitchers and came up with: HITTERS 550 ab 146 hits 29 2b 16 hr 50 bb 100 so .265/.327/.405 PITCHERS 200 ip 20 hra 71 bb 141 k .258 avg 4.10 era .4 WAR I'm a bit worried about that .4 WAR as I would expect a league average SP with 100 ratings across the board to have a higher WAR figure. Thanks for any feedback. |

For pitchers are you looking at WAR (which is essentially fWAR), or rWAR?
An average MLB player who plays a full season should be about 2 WAR, but for pitchers given you're doing it by entering stats it will depend on which WAR you use. |

I was looking at the WAR figure on the player editor so I'm not sure if it's fWAR or rWAR. It's next to FIP on the edit screen.

I believe, the WAR in OOTP hews closer to Fangraph's WAR, FIP not ERA based. On the 100 ratings, (I assume out of 100), make sure you are comparing players relative to MLB (or your highest level in a fictional universe)
