United Technologies Ballpark
From the variable plasma lighting to the experimental grass hybrid, nothing in beautiful United Technologies Ballpark takes conventional stadium design for granted. UTC underwrote the majority of the innovations, justifying the substantial initial costs against the likelihood that many of the patented features will one day be standard components in stadiums around the country. Perhaps foremost among the new technology is the complete capture of all game action digitally from a network of over 750 pencil-sized cameras inconspicuously placed around the stadium. Using triangulation, it is now possible to quantify everything that occurs during the game, from the amount of “break” on each opponent’s curveball to an umpire’s strike zone. Immediate dividends from the new technology were the home team's ultra-accurate defensive player positioning charts. (Network television has excitedly been working to develop software that will allow them to tap the system for broadcast purposes.)
NOTES: The park is fairly neutral with neither righties or lefties, hitters or pitchers having an advantage... The new owner of the ballclub was so enamored with the park that he had the architects add an apartment and offices for himself in the upper deck above left field... This is the only ballpark where you can find extra memory chips for sale in the concourses along with hot dogs and beer... The center field batter's eye is home to 7 varieties of deciduous trees and has been dubbed "Sherwood Forest" - it is also home to a large number of rabbits. Despite the groundskeepers best efforts to keep them penned in, one will still occasionally find it's way onto the playing field to the delight of the fans... The site was the former home of a city bus garage. Capacity: 44,205 Left Field Line: 335 ft Left Field: 352 ft Left Center: 366 ft Center Field: 405 ft Right Center: 365 ft Right Field: 352 ft Right Field Line: 330 ft Fences: 9 ft. Twin Towers
The background is Melbourne, Australia. I liked the colors. They do look like the Twin Towers, though.

Ah! I've gotten the Henry stamp of approval!
Henry's league and parks were my original inspiration. Anybody who hasn't browsed his league sites are also missing (to quote Henry) a "friggin classic."

Great ballpark, with the back story it is my new favorite of yours.
And if I owned a team and built a new stadium...I'd definitely want an apartment instead of just an "owner's box."

oh crap, now which stadium do I bounce to get this one in. All my USBA teams use one of your parks (except one, Portland, which uses someone else's.
