Do you like players changing during play?

Do you like players changing during play?
If so why?

Being new I hate it because it is much harder for me to follow and understand what is happening.
Also seems like there would be cases when too many players are on ice.
Rarely does the camera seem to capture when it happens.

I don't understand why they can't wait for play stoppage which seems to occur at least every 2 minutes if not more.

Is there option in game to allow player changes only during stoppage?

Fatigue would be a factor as shifts IRL would never be two minutes. In the 70's shifts exceeded a minute but now a shift, unless on ice circumstances dictate otherwise run an average of 47 seconds.

Changing during play is definitely part of the game and it would be to a team's disadvantage to change only during stoppage. A shift in hockey can be highly anaerobic with high intensity that is optimized with very short period of time spent on the ice per shift.
