Player leaving early for the ECHL
Not sure if this is a bug or just a feature that I'm unaware of. A player of mine in his Junior year has left for an ECHL team without showing as having his rights held by any NHL team, so it's not like he's been signed by his drafted club and sent down, he is just under contract with the ECHL team outright.
I've attached a screenshot of his contract screen showing no NHL rights, his bio showing that he was 'released' which I guess is the same as graduating judging by senior players bio's and then his stats, showing him to be in his junior year. Please let me know if I've misunderstood this! Also, It would be great to have a message pop/feature that lets you know when guys on your roster get signed up by their pro team - Just so you know it's happened without having to make a detour to the transaction logs to find out. It would bring some much needed inbox highlight to that quiet period in the NCAA calendar too. |

I think the trigger may be determining who gets released with the method we used before adding the academic years to the game, which will occasionally result in an older non-senior being let go. Should be straightforward enough to fix.

Thanks Jeff, I loved this guy and was sad to see him go.

Hey Jeff,
This appears to still be happening.

The trigger was definitely changed; can you show me his Bio screen?

Edit - I've just realised he's a walk-on himself, so perhaps he was a walk-on Jnr and did his two years? I can't remember. I think because of his talent level/star wise I'd forgotten he could have been a walk-on

Yeah, that's most likely what it is - if a guy joins an NCAA team at a late age, he won't necessarily begin as a freshman (it's assumed he's got enough transfer credits to save him a year or two off the normal time to get his degree.)
