Just shy of 600 Canadian national (mostly non-NHL) players through 2005 draft. There are about a dozen players included here who played in the NHL in the 1940's and 50's, but they are in that exclusive group whose only games were in the playoffs, mostly during WW2. The most famous of these was Doug McKay, his one and only appearance was in Game 7 of the 1950 Stanley Cup final for Detroit.

There are a few duplicates to allow for potential dob variations.
