My fictional coaches have poor ratings

I've created a save with current MLB structure and fictional players/personnel. Looking thru prospective teams to become GM with I have noticed that the general standard of coaching in all teams plus free agents is very low. Below AA level it is unusual to find a hitting or pitching coach with even an average rating in their specialism. Dominantly they are poor or fair with most being poor. I compared this to a previous live start save and there the coaches have much better ratings all the way down to Rookie level.

Is this a known issue in fictional games?

Also I am now inclined to turn coaching off as I am concerned that predominantly poor coaching across the board will prevent potential being reached. Any thoughts on this welcomed too.

You can manually change them. They're fictional for a reason. You can dictate their ratings. lol

Thanks for your reply, the problem is that something like 1000 coaches would need to be changed manually to increase the skill rating of coaches across the leagues to be higher than the 'poor' level where most are at now If I just changed my own coaches I'd feel I was giving myself too much of an advantage over the AI.

I've decided to try playing with the coaching off and see how I go...

I found coaches to be way more bother than they're worth. I can see where people want them in the game but they don't function like real coaching staffs (as far as hiring, firing, promotion, etc.) and what they actually do in the game is a black box.
