Upgrade question
I'm considering purchasing OOTP 23. Hopefully someone can help me with some questions I have with OOTP 21 that might be fixed in OOTP 23.
First question which if the answer is no, will make the next paragraph irrelevant: Will I be able to use my templates from OOTP 21 in OOTP 23? I'm having problems with OOTP 21 with runtime errors when trying to import templates. I don't know if I have imported too many templates into a league or what the deal is. I have a league with 19 teams in one league (NL), 0 in the other. I've imported 18 teams (and minor leagues) with templates - moving them each time to the league. I can't import any more templates into this game or get runtime errors. If I export this game as a template and try to import into another smaller (5 team) game I also get a runtime error. Thanks for any guidance. |

As far as I know you can only import leagues from one version to another. After that you can save the league as a template or quickstart. You would have to import from 21 to 22 then to 23. The demos can be used to do this.

I bought 23 on the sale. I just played it for the first time yesterday. Highly disappointed with the game engine. Guy bunted a ball and it teleported to the 3B. Might want to wait until the kinks are ironed out.

Why do people use different players, different lineups, different strategy, development, talent change randomness, and the development lab, but judge the game on whether it produces historical statistics? |

With a rough, initial roll out, and what seems to be more patches this year than in the past editions, when I do play, I've stuck with OOTP22. Have bought every edition since #4, but not sure about 23. |

I found this out yesterday. I figured at worst if the runtime errors continued with the latest version I would have some support. Found that I could not import 21 to 22, so I found a link to version 22 in another forum post. I imported to 22 and then to 23. Then I converted the leagues I had merged the templates into. Saved those games as templates and then imported those templates into the target league. So far I haven't encountered any runtime errors - which is a big improvement.
