Editing stats

Hello all,

So, I am getting further into team/league creations and now want to add 2022 stats such as Aaron Judge, Tony Gonsolin, etc. I have followed the instructions that I have read but am encountering problems.

I go to the game settings, press export player stats and go to saved file, export/import and see the 3 separate files. The problem is that it does not have all the players. For instance, in the above example, I am looking to edit Aaron Judge to this year (2022) stats. When I open the batting file, he is nowhere to be found. Same for Gonsolin. I want to add his pitching (2022) stats but when I open the pitching file, he is nowhere to be found.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thank you in advance.

Why not consider using a live start? You could have all the stats already in the game when you start without needing to make edits. More time to enjoy the game!

I would like to edit stats because I create my own eras of all-time players/teams or in the case of 2000-present, just try to fill out the rosters the best I can with good players. This is the exact reason it is important for me to be able to edit statistics because some teams lack quality talent such as the Kansas City Royals. Very difficult to round out a starting rotation and that is why I would like to edit Brady Singer into the game with this year's stats. Without him, you have Greinke, Duffy and you have to go all the way back to Tom Gordon to try to get a starting 5 that would have a decent chance.

That makes sense. Sounds like a cool project. Putting the stats in the editor to generate the ratings is the easy part. I'm not sure though how to get the stats to save to the player's file. I have edited leagues though to get more accurate ratings. My favorite mode is historical by far.

I do hope you find the answers you are looking for. Seems like a fun way to play OOTP.

Okay, only one response so I am assuming there is NO WAY to edit stats in this game? I have read a couple of posts that say you can by using the export player stats, open the file, edit, and then import saved file back into same game. You have to be in commissioner mode. Can anybody just tell me if editing stats, not attributes, is possible? Another example would be Ohtani. He is having a much better pitching year in 2022, compared to 2021, and I would like to add this year into his stat line. Same goes for Dylan Cease (CWS), Sandy Alcantara (MIA), Kyle Wright (ATL).

Why would you add 2022 (which is the current season) stats into OOTP23, which is a simulation of the current 2022 season? You want to import stats of a season that hasn't been played yet in game?

Thanks for the reply. Not trying to be an ass, but your response implies that there is only one, correct way to play this game. The beauty of OOTP Baseball 23 is that you can have fun and entertainment by playing in a multitude of styles. You can play as a commissioner, owner, general manager, manager, with All-Time teams, historical teams, minor league, foreign leagues, fictional, non-fictional, Negro, etc. You can play in any time era, you can play in franchise mode over a course of many years. You are implying that I should only play in 2021, or 2022, because I cannot add 2022 to my stats. The year is almost complete, so I wanted to add this year with players who had career years because I play with All-Time teams, in this situation, Major League Teams with players who were on the roster from 2000-present. I have another with All-Time teams, all eras, and another, All-Time teams from 1980-present.

As I stated in my post, I was just looking for help on how, if possible, to edit in game stats, not attributes, so that I can put in the career years of players such as Dylan Cease (CHW), Kyle Wright (ATL), Tony Gonsolin (LAD), Aaron Judge (NYY). Thanks.

AFAIK, you are given three options-

1)Go to league settings, click on League Actions, click on Import/Export, select Export MLB Stats. Hit OK. Depending on you machine, it might take awhile to export. Once it's done, it will tell you file path you need to find the exported files. Once you find the files, open them and edit them. Once you are done, hit save. Then go back to league settings, etc etc. and Import MLB stats, selecting the file you just edited. I don't know how that will work seeing as you are trying to edit a season you are currently in, but see if that works. Otherwise-

2)Do Live Start

3)Wait until OOTP 24 when they update rosters and stats.

Thanks for this reply. This is what I was looking for. I had read the same thing online and just wanted conformation. I did try this, exactly in the order you wrote it, and it did not export the entire roster of players in the game file. I just don't understand why it picks and chooses which players are exported into the 3 separate files. Oh well, I appreciate the response and help.
