Can you not move a position player to pitcher when you have a DH?
Ok, first and foremost I know how the DH rule works. However, I got thumped in a game and wanted to save bullpen arms. I wanted to insert a position player on my roster that at least had some pitcher attributes and use him as my garbage pitcher when losing my 10+. Unfortunately, it would not let me move him to DH. I had to remove the DH from the game, then change to a player not already in the game to move to pitcher.
This doesn't make any sense why it has to be done this way unless the game is coded like that.

Was the player you were trying to put in as pitcher already in the field somewhere else?

Am I understand what you were trying to do correctly here?
You're losing, playing with DH, and want to move your RF (for example) to pitch, then bring in a player off your bench to sub for the existing DH and play RF? |

But to answer your question, yes close enough. I just never figured out far enough as to who was going to left. Just that I wanted to move the left fielder to the mound.

There's a post somewhere on the board explaining the order matters. Maybe a search will turn it up.

Here are the steps to do this....
1. From the in-game substitution screen, up top just below the tabs there is an option to "remove DH". Click this. It will take your existing pitcher and insert that existing pitcher into the spot in your batting lineup where your DH was. 2. At this point, you now should gain the "P" position in the drop down position menu for everyone in your lineup. 3. Move the position player in question to "P" and then replace the existing pitcher, who is now in your batting order, with a guy off the bench to play the open position As you said, you're obviously losing your DH spot by doing this. |

Quick question---what about moving the DH to Left or to another position? Any clarifications or differences I should know?

For that one, if you change the DH's position in the drop-down to LF (for example), it will give you a prompt that doing so will forfeit the DH and that your pitcher will replace your current LF's lineup slot. Then once that is done, P will be available on the drop-down list for defensive switches/subs.

But the issue of losing the dh doesn't matter in this case. You are losing so bad that you are using a position player to pitch. If the player you bring into the game isn't a better hitter than your pitcher then you have worse problems. Not a slant on the poster but the logic of losing the dh is negligible in a blowout loss.

I was out of position players because when I got down by 15, I took my top players out to allow them to rest (had a stretch of 13 games w/o a day off).
