1. How do you set up minors a year before MLB teams are active?

2. How do you do a "take back" in an expansion draft (lose a player protect a player)?

1. From the "change league structure" screen you can add a team to the league/level where you'll want your expansion team to take over. Leave them unaffiliated and they should sign players to fill in. After the expansion draft, you can manually move players from the expansion team's minor system to the waiting one, and delete the game-created expansion teams.

2. ? Go into commissioner mode and re-assign the players? Or negotiate a trade to get the player back, or load a backup (always make one before expanding) and try again.
