Ooof....

As a free-to-play player, I'm always grateful when I get the experience of playing a season in Diamond. As always, one of the lessons taught is that some of y'all have some extremely good teams put together. I've lost 100 games...but I learned some things that will help me with my other franchises.

F2P is about persistence and patience. I feel like I have done a good job of managing my cards and the missions. Right now I have all current missions completed and about 2940 unique cards. The problem is that my team has been stuck in the mid range at Diamond for close to three months. During that span my win totals have only ranged between 76 and 87. I did have a playoff run in one of my 83 win seasons to take the Diamond title with the reward being a single 72 win week at Perfect.
I’m locked in on the Ace of Bronze path to maximize my pack earnings but feel like I may need to put some energy into other 128 or 256 tournaments to take a shot at getting reward cards that could shake up my roster. I’ve taken some stabs at Perfect Draft tournaments but haven’t had any success there so it has been hard to stay motivated on that track.

Well, I got my backside tanned. That's OK...there are some very good players there. The first goal was to get there. Remaining there will come, as you correctly say, with time and patience. Congrats to you for going to the Promised Land. That's a BIG achievement for FTP.

I just follow a few basic strategies:
- Ace of Bronze tournaments are critical. Invest the time in maximizing your team and keep it active as much as possible
- Twitch drops are your friend
- Only sell duplicates and sell them aggressively. My exceptions are that I sell all Live perfects that I pull and will sell mega pulls that are obviously inflated beyond the card’s playability.
- Use funds from card sales to keep buying regular packs. More packs means more chances to get Diamond and Perfect cards. If Silver packs are on sale for 1500 then I go for those. Otherwise stick with the regular packs to pull as many cards as possible.
- Complete all missions. Only selling duplicates pays off in a big way when new missions drop. If you need to buy cards to finish missions, then wait a bit until the initial rush to buy cards dies off a bit.

Thank you, sir. That's all solid advice.

I don't see the point of completing most missions. The live missions are worth 100K+ in value for only about 20K spent. The BAL bronze lock and bronze missions are worthwhile if you sell the silver reward card. Some of the name game pack reward missions can be auto-completed by doing the lives, others can buy you a pack at a discount and that's it.
