Accurate Historic Draft Pools

My first project for this awesome community is creating draft pools that are more accurate and applicable than the in-game historical rookies function. The game uses the year players debuted, and uses all rookies from that year no matter their age or country of origin. I was tired of using real rookies in a fictional league or replay league and having 70+ rated overall players getting drafted and creating havoc in those saves. So using Wikipedia and baseball reference, I will be creating text files to import that include about 100 real players from the years they were actually drafted!

Let me begin by saying there are some limitations to this project, first and foremost, I am using baseball reference for the historical ID's, and players who failed to reach the majors are not usually listed there. Secondly, these are mass import text files, and while they do work, ratings and potential may not be totally accurate. Due to the nature of MLB drafts, I used the last year players were drafted as their import year. Additionally, there will be a distinct lack of foreign players since they are not usually included in MLB drafts.

I started with a few random years and will be working backwards from 2016 or so until I run out of steam

Note: I am playing on '22, not sure if these .txt files will work for 23+

You do know if you select Import and Maintain Real Minor Leagues’ in league creation the players all import in their actual draft year right? Just wanted to save you work if you weren’t aware of this.

wait, what??

EDIT: so I just tried it out, and yeah, it does import the guys in the right year, but the international guys are all jacked up and some of the ages are wonky as well. I'll be using this as a point of reference moving forward, guess I'll just aiming to clean it up a little bit.

Also not all Guys available to Draft from that years Draft like in real Life.
