Importing a historical player
How do you import a historical player in OOTP 23? Do you use the Lehman database or something else?

The import code will, unless it is a minor leaguer or Negro League Player, almost always be the code at the end of their Baseball-Reference webpage. So for Pedro Martinez, it is martipe02. For a Minor Leaguer, you want the code from the Other Baseball-Reference Page (go to the page with their minor league records), so for Pedro as a minor leaguer in 1991, it is: martin004ped.
The NeL players have custom import codes at this time (see attachment). For Minor League players/NeL'ers to import, check the box to use the Minor League Database on the import screen. I trust you found the import widget on the Free Agent screen? |

You can also create a text file to import multiple players at one time.
ruthba01,1927 Thomafr04,1994 etc if tyou want to put them on a team it would be ruthba01,1920,NYY or whatever the 2-3 letter abbreviation is for the team. see attachments.
