I'm here to collect what's owed to me...

When patience and persistence pay off! It feels good. It was a grind, keeping every non-live diamond I've pulled since day one, and using a lot of my extra PP to get as many as possible.

Remember: It's always better to prepare for the mission before than try to complete it afterwards.

Agreed. My #3 team has suddenly become #1 because I completed the BAL Perfect package about an hour after it dropped. I was forced, forced (well...not really) to buy Perfect Mike Schmidt to complete the Boggs mission, and then he stole Wade's job by hitting .262/.368/.562 in 48 games.

Now...why didn't I pay this much attention to Teams #1 and 2?

I'm exactly the same, as far as neglecting my other teams. I just have one team I focus on, the other two I just pack rip for fun.

Same boat here as a F2P. I also wrapped up my Negro League missions to get my Bullet Joe. The only missions I have left are five of the Platinum ones but I’m not in any rush on those. Unless there’s some great content this Thursday, I’m thinking I’m going to bank packs until Platinum Series 2 comes out on the 11th.

I'd actually recommend rushing the PS1 missions and prioritizing those. Remember, when PS2 drops, PS1 is removed from packs. We won't know until it happens, of course, but it is logical to assume that there will be a significant inflation to the PS1 cards when it does. The prices are already fairly high so most people are selling duplicates (I've been holding all of mine until their out of pack circulation).

A month from the end of PS1 and there may just not be many left out there that aren't locked in (meaning prices will be crazy). Maybe there's something I'm missing, but this seems the most logical to me.

I'm LEANING this way, but the hold-up is the overall lack of quality cards in the set. Yes, there are some low-end tournament monsters, but they don't cost 90-120,000 PP. Of all the PS1 cards, I'd say that Andrelton Simmons is the best sub-100 buy, as he hits about as well (or not terribly) as Concepcion with better defense. The 94 Kent has also performed well for me. The Perfect Pudge and Maddux are obviously nice, but they're two of the most expensive cards out there. Early Wynn seems very hit and miss. Basically, most of the sub-100 cards are trash for league purposes, and SOME of the 100's are worthwhile if you can get them for a reasonable price.

I figure that it would cost me about 380K PP to finish off the missions. That’s a lot to sacrifice now in speculation of some topper which will appear late in the cycle.

I agree with this Use the Plat content to build the bank and buy any good toppers later.

I wouldn't even call it speculation - the final card is going to be an end-game card, no question.

The Jerry Reuss is really nice to add, especially if you play tourney modes. Reuss, Brown, Vida and Joe all have equal points, just spread differently. So other than the Kershaw coming for PTCS, he is basically tied for best pitcher in the game.

(EDIT: I forgot about Pedro for some reason. Tied for the 2nd best pitcher in the game)

Additionally, completing those 5 missions will give you 10 historical packs, which has a 100K valuation (and a similar EV).

So that makes it more like 280K - right now Reuss sells for that much, and I'd say he is worth it. Plus, you get all the PS1 cards you lock-in for tourneys, of course.

Long-term, seems like the right play. Particularly because in a few weeks that number may be 750K and it no longer becomes an option.
