Question Auto Play until end of inning NEVER changes pitcher?

I like to sometimes click to auto play until the end of inning. I got a relief pitcher that gave up 9 ER and he was exhausted. If I had auto-played the whole game he would have been subbed for sure.

Is there a way to have this happen when I auto play til end of inning while playing a game?

I think this can only be controlled with game strategy-type things like pitch counts? The good news is it doesn't happen often, I usually simulate half-innings to the 5th or so. The bad news is it happens

Hey at least now it stops once the pitcher becomes exhausted. Before that was implemented, you always ran the risk of a crazy number like 20 runs being scored on that frame.

Does this happen to only the human player or, depending on when you hit the button, can it impact the AI's half of the inning? Almost seems that's not worth having the option to auto-play until the end of the inning.

That only happens if you are set to control subs and only for your team.

Right, which is why it's a problem? I think almost everyone that plays out games (and therefore sims part-innings) controls subs.

A lot don't. I like to watch the game and just the AI manage the team and ala Brad Pitt.

I guess the problem is that often we want to control subs but not completely play out a game. IOW, we want to auto-play maybe an inning here or there. Or maybe play out the first inning, then auto-play until the 5th or whatever, but still control the subs... I think if the OOTPer is controlling subs, but the pitcher gets injured, auto play will stop to allow the gamer to choose the sub (I *think* that's how it works.) So it'd be cool if a pitcher were getting shelled during auto-play, the game would stop and say "hey dude, you might wanna stick a fork in your pitcher and bring in a new guy..."
