Raw Movement vs. View Movement
I see that pitchers in OOTP23 have 2 lines for movement now, Raw and View.
But I can't find anywhere a statement of which one the game actually uses when determining outcomes. (I searched the manual and the past 100 posts using "raw movement" before giving up, so I did try . . .) So, even though it's an easy question someone has probably asked before, can someone tell me? Thanks in advance. |

The game uses groundball% and raw movement to determine outcomes, so in a sense, it's raw movement. But view movement is just raw movement combined with groundball%, so in a sense, it's view movement. It's a bit of a philosophical question.

Perhaps I should have been a little more specific in my first post. Here's what prompted my question. I'm trying to play a historical league. I'm manipulating some ratings myself. I'm working on the assumption that the player's real life career HR rate already takes into account his GB% and everything else. I need to know if the pitcher's historical movement rating should equate to his Raw Movement or his View Movement. |

Yes, this appears to be right. I was confused because I use a 2-8 ratings scale. A player with a 1-200 movement score of 117 got rated a 6/8. I seem to remember that in older versions of the game 117/200 put a guy at 5/8, so that confused me. I didn't know that that had changed a bit. |
