Team History
For some reason, in my 2022 replay, the team history shows other names that are not even associated with the team. Also the years in existence are not correct.

There are core teams in OOTP (the current MLB ones) and the teams that folded prior to 1901's AL founding need to be tied to one of these teams. So, the Columbus Solons, for example, are - per the game - actually the Chicago White Sox but playing under a different name and if you play them in 1899 straight through to 1901, your team will change names. The game can't handle contraction so if you start a team in the 19th century, that team needs to become somebody eventually. So those teams that disappeared turn into the teams that, conveniently enough, showed up in 1901.
It's annoying, I know, but until OOTP can auto-contract teams under a method akin to its expansion process but in reverse, it's the workaround. You can see the team a 19th c team is tied to under the team settings under "Historical Franchise ID". Solons shown... |

Thank you for the info. Of course, I do not recall it being like this in previous versions, but I could be mistaken.
