Updated OOTP 23 public beta patch (version 23.4.64) available!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 23 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore or Epic version!

Hi everybody!

We have fixed a few issues, so here is a new public beta, version 23.4.64. We will release this build tomorrow officially if it is stable.

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, however both clients and the commish need to update to benefit from the online league fixes.

Fixed incorrect International League 2022 schedule
PT: Added a button to reload new cards in card shop

Added automatic csv file import for defining all new outfit colors
Updated readme for ballcaps/jerseys, added one for pants
Adjusted minor league settings in 2022 quickstart to use ‘control totals’ option
PT: Fixed blank cards in Perfect Draft
Fixed modify uniforms page crash when facegen is disabled
Fixed some scouting issues related to low stuff potentials
Several other small bug fixes

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 23 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 23
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp23betapt
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

PS: About the Facegen issues on Macs, this is unfortunately an issue in the Facegen code base, but their developers are aware and working on it. So we hope this is fixed soon!

I applied the update via Steam as stated but it will not allow me to log in to Perfect Team as it says it has the connection terminated abnormally.

What do I do?

Try rebooting your PC.

I’ve been trying to get this feature to work for months. Posted on the boards, the subreddit and submitted a bug report, no joy.

I’d love to figure out what I’m doing wrong with this feature so I can use it properly. (I’ve applied the most recent update-24 June hotfix, btw, just found this comment via Google).

Here's a test file from the dev who coded the feature. I think some of the color codes in it are not actually correct, but it should at least show the proper layout.

Thanks, Lukas. I've tried putting this in ballcaps and logos folders, with and without the (1), and it's not appearing to do anything, even when I force all the graphic updates.

Big question:

Which folder do I put this in, or does it not matter because I'm on a Mac and FG is still nettlesome?

Same problem on PC.

I’ve got a custom logo folder that I tried it in, custom caps folder, default logo and caps folders (with the save game still pointed at the custom folders). I’ve tried with the header row (“team,nickname,notes,etc”) as the first line of the CSV, and without (i.e., “Atlanta,Braves,,2012,2020,etc), I’ve tried file name “atlanta_braves_color_settings.CSV”, I’ve removed the team name and nickname, I’ve added the dates from the top line CSV, I feel like I have run through every option I can think of and either

A) I’m missing some important step OR
B) The feature isn’t actually working as intended

I’d love, love, love this feature to work as described. Thanks!

Tried the CSV setup with the most recent release (23.5.73) and still nothing.

I'm sorry for bumping this old thread, but it's got our record of attempting to fix the problem and the 23.5.73 announcement thread is locked, so I figured this is the best place to keep this line of inquiry alive.

Again, I'd love to see the color_settings.csv mode work, but I'm at the end of my rope trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if the game isn't mechanized for this feature to actually work.

I also totally understand that maybe this feature isn't a huge priority to address, but there was an update a month or so ago that specifically addressed this feature's implementation, so I'd like to know if this is user(s) error, or if something in the program isn't working as intended.
